A.C.E.S. (All Children Exercising Simultaneously)
May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. To celebrate it, children throughout the country will exercise at the same time in the A.C.E.S. Project. This event emphasizes the importance of physical activity in the pursuit of health and happiness. We hope our students will realize the value of incorporating exercise and sports into their daily lives
Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Rope for Heart is an educational fundraising event which supports valuable reasearch in the fight against heart disease and stroke. It also reminds the students about the importance of regular physical activity and healthy eating habits. Throughout the month, students will participate in various jumping and nutrition education activities during their regular physical education classes. Additionally, students in grades 3-6 will be invited to participate in several before-school jumping sessions hosted by Mrs. Gothers as a way to reinforce the benefits of aerobic exercise.

Town-Wide Cross Country Run
Wednesday, October 14th
The Town-Wide Cross Country Run takes place at Wethersfield High School each fall and brings together students in grades 4-6 from all 5 elementary schools. The purpose of his annual event is to promote health, wellness, physical fitness and healthy competition. This event reinforces what learn about pacing and aerobic endurance in their P.E. classes in a fun, developmentally appropriate way.
Webb Jog-a-thon
Friday, October 18th
Rain Date: Friday, October 23rd
The purpose of the Webb Jog-a-thon is to promote wellness through physical activity and raise money to fund programs at Webb. The event took places during the school day on the Webb field. Students were challenged to run, jog, or walk outside for 25 minutes, in an effort to complete as many laps as possible. With the help of parent volunteers, sponsors, and donors, this event was a big success.
